Google Ads Or Facebook Ads? Hot Topics – Part 1

Both Google Ads (Adwords) and Facebook Ads are incredibly powerful advertising tools for every type of business.

Harnessing the power of both paid search and paid social is a remarkably effective advertising strategy.

However, there’s been a living question about which tool is more powerful, Google ads or Facebook ads. In my opinion, a dual advertising strategy aligns with the strengths of each tool strategically.

To truly know the strength of each tool is to truly understand the purpose of the platforms. Social media platform like Facebook is the go-to platform for people when happy, indifferent, and bored – it’s a virtual home. While search engines like google is a got platform for answers and certainty when in doubt or simply need to betray ignorance.

I will talk more about these differences and how it matters to your business in later posts.

In this Posts, I will like to answer a question that many Digital Marketers ask me…. “Should the messaging on Facebook ads and Google Ads be consistent for a brand?”

My answer – NO! The approach you take to introduce someone to a product while they aren’t thinking about it is different from the approach you’ll take when you have to recommend a product to someone who is actively searching for it. The messaging should be relative to the platform -which often determines the audience position on your communication map.

Your communication map shows what your audience already knows about the brand and what they need to know about the brand, it also determines the tone of voice that the audience anticipates to experience. e.g Instructing, Sharing, Asking,…

Also, you need to understand that Google search is not what Google Ads is all about. We have Google search ads as well as Google display ads… the approach and messaging for each must also be relative.
